TSN has announced that they will have live streaming for the 2012 U.S. open golf tournament from The Olympic Club in San Francisco. TSN will have two US Open feeds for Canadian golf fans - one featuring the 8th and 18th holes and another featuring a marquee group. Live streaming will start at approximately Noon et/9am pt from Thursday through Sunday. Details of TSN's US open golf broadcast and streaming schedule can be found at http://www.tsn.ca/golf/feature/?id=9408.

The US Open Site http://www.usopen.com/en_US/champ_experience/viewing_schedule.html offers live streaming for people in the U.S. starting at 10:30 a.m. Eastern time on Thursday and Friday,
Saturday and Sunday are still TBD. Canadian's need to use a service like http://hotspotshield.com/ (free) or www.witopia.net (paid) to access the streaming video on the US Open site.

TSN is offering live streaming of the 2011 U.S. Open tennis to it's Canadian viewers. You can watch TSN's coverage here http://watch.tsn.ca/#clip523767. If you get an error it means the stream isn't active, you can find the broadcast schedule at http://www.tsn.ca/tennis/feature/?id=47911. As is the normal case the more extensive live streams at http://www.usopen.org/en_US/interactive/video/live.html are not available to Canadian's unless they use a service like http://hotspotshield.com/ (free) or www.witopia.net (paid) to access the streaming video. The streaming audio is available to Canadians in 2011.

Canadian golf fans don't despair, although TSN.ca only offered live U.S. Open golf streaming coverage for the first two rounds of the 2010 tournament from Pebble Beach the US Open Site http://www.usopen.com/en_US/video/live.html offers live streaming for people in the U.S. starting at 4:30 p.m. Eastern time on Saturday and 3:00 p.m. on Sunday which are the same times that TSN starts their live coverage. Canadian's will need to use a service like http://hotspotshield.com/ (free) or www.witopia.net (paid) to access the streaming video which runs until 11 p.m. on Saturday and 9 p.m. on Sunday.

Unfortunately TSN is not offering any live streaming of the 2009 U.S. Open tennis to it's Canadian viewers. As is the normal case the live streams on www.usopen.org are not available to Canadian's unless they use a service like www.Witopia.net. The streaming audio is available to Canadians.

Unlike the case with the Masters this time a search for US Open golf live streaming Canada returns TSN's homepage as the number one result. Of course the first time I clicked the link to the Video on Demand Friday coverage it returned an error but that seems to be fixed now. The problem not is it doesn't appear that TSN is providing live streaming for golf aficionados of the US Open, at least not today, what we get is highlights only. I guess Canadian golf fans will have to find a TV. I have heard that if you want to watch U.S. only streaming services like Hulu or the U.S. Open that Witopia.net is well worth the $24.95 a year fee.
